Link Access 2003 to Unix db

Friends,

I am trying to link Access 2003 to a unix db via ODBC, but
Access cannot find the proper unix driver. The unix
supplier is sending the driver. Once I install it, will
Access automatically find/recognize it so that the ODBC
link will work?

Thanks for your assistance.

You should be able to find, setup, and configure all the odbc drivers in the
windows control panel.

start->control panel->Administrative tools-> Data Sources (odbc)

Once you get to the above, you can then add a FILE DSN (data source name).

In the above list, you should see your odbc driver for the particular system
you installed (you could, and should also consult the documentation for the
odbc driver the suppler is sending you).

Once the above is setup, then in the ms-access "tables" tab, you simply
click on new table, and then select link table. You then choose odbc, and
your above file dsn you make should appear in the list.

Albert,

Couldn't be clearer. Thanks so much for these step-by-step
instructions.
