LINEST

I am using EXCEL 2003. let known Y's be 2,3,4,5,6,7 and known X's be 1,2,3,4,5,6.
Then m1 should = 1 and b1 should = 1. I can't make LINEST return anything but m1. If I enter the function as {=LINEST(y1:y6,x1:x6,true,true)} all I get for output is a copy of the formula. If I omit the curly braces it returns m1 correctly but no other statistics. Can someone please explain how to do it right?

*FIRST* select an empty range spanning 2 columns by 4 rows. Then type in
your formula *BUT* hold down [Ctrl] and [Shift] keys before pressing
[Enter].
