I have a report that I use for work. Every once in a while I need to void out
a record but the information still needs to remain on the report. I need to
get this (----------VOID----------VOID----------VOID----------) to appear
overlapping a record if I check a yes/no box or have a drop down box
selecting "Y" for yes.

Can we assume you have a field or fields in your report that determine
whether or not the --VOID--- appears? What are the names the field(s)? What
are the values that determine the VOID?

Generically you could add a long transparent text box that has its visible
property set by code using the values of some other field or fields.
