line break icon

I am importing a field that has multiple lines within one cell from excel
into access. The lines are separated by a line break (Alt+Enter). When I
import the data into access, the line breaks are replaced by a square box
icon and the text is just one continuous line. Is there anyway to get around
this? Thanks.
