LimitToList and AutoExpand Properties

I am trying to set the combo box limitToList and AutoExpand Properties to yes
so that when a user enters data it will pull up the matching record.

The help file for both these properties says:

Setting both the LimitToList property and the AutoExpand property to Yes
lets Microsoft Access find matching values from the list as the user enters
characters in the text box portion of the combo box, and restricts the
entries to only those values.

When I try this the box auto fills with the first match of the first type
character and then will not except any more characters. How do I get this to
except the next type character and ulimited unwanted records from the drop
down list?

I found the problem, it was the mask in the properties that causes it to
autofill and not work right. took the mask off and now it work as it was
ment to. thanks any way.
