Limiting what you can enter in a cell

Is there a way to only allow a cell to show the result of the formula within
that cell but still allow the user to delete the contents. In other words
the user is
prevented from entering a value, except to delete the value that is there.

Rob,

If the user is able to delete the cell, he'll be deleting the formula that
lives in the cell. Gone.
