Limited Users, IE and SP2

IE error on limited user accounts since SP2. This is the second time I have
installed SP2. the first time a while ago and I uninstalled it because it
caused major problems. I installed it again about a week ago and now IE
will not work. MS,IE,SP2 suck

clue. SP2 has cause problems to everone I know running xp home.

Hi,
I sure wish I had seen this post before answering the earlier post. But,
since SP2 installs smoothly for most users, you might check my reply to your
earlier (about 1 hour ago) post to see if there's anything you haven't
tried, along the lines of removing malware.

Problems with SP2 are usually caused by malware on the system that was not
cleaned up before installing SP2. First eliminate any spyware.

In WinXP SP2: You can fix Winsock by going to Start | Run and typing
CMD

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other

In fact I face the same problem, and then I find the following way to solve,
but not sure it is the best way or not.Just for your ref.Step 1: Reload IE
settings:

1. Open IE, click Tools and click Internet Options.
2. Click "Delete Files" and click OK when prompted to
confirm.
3. Click "Settings", and then click "View Files".
Delete all files in this
folder.
4. In the Settings window, click "View Objects".
Delete all the objects in
this folder. If some objects cannot be deleted, please
restart the computer
and try again.
5. Switch to the Advanced tab, click the "Restore
Defaults" button and then
deselect "Enable third-party browser extensions".

Then click OK to quit.
