limited user unable to run program

OS=Win XP Home
I have created a "limited" user account and unfortunately it is so
restrictive that a program that automatically updates its executable cannot
be run by user.
program is pokerstars.net
Upon launching it will fail due to its inability to update.

Is there a way to leave a person as "limited user" and yet change the
security settings on the program so that it thinks it's being run by admin?

The only thing you could try is to give that limited user account more
permissions to the folder where the application resides and possibly
registry keys for the application. I would start by giving the user modify
permissions to the folder. In XP Home you can boot into Safe Mode and
configure NTFS permissions as described in the link below. If you look at
the properties of the shortcut it will show the path to the folder where the
application is located. --- Steve
