Limited Border

I have a report with a table that has borders to indicate the total of the
numbers above it. I want the border line to show only to the length of the
longest number in the column. Is there a way to a border line on only part
of the cell instead of the whole line?

You can add a border to the paragraph instead of the cell, dragging the
indent markers to make the paragraph just the right width. FWIW, however, I
generally find it more satisfactory just to use an underline, adding spaces
as needed to make the line the right length.
