Like-for-like cell linkage returns '#N/A'

Hi,
I've got 2 files [Matt1.xls & Matt2.xls]

Matt1.xls - FRONTEND (works with userform & about 10 staff use this for
daily sales updates). One of the fileds is the username that is captured
though the getusername logic.

Matt2.xls - SUMMARY file that mirrors the frontend file cell-for-cell for
calculations to be done for MIS purposes.

The problem -
When I open the SUMMARY file (Matt2.xls) the value returned against one
specific user (under the staff name column) eg.(user_name =David Chase) is
always ' #N/A '.
Where ever he has an entry, the user name shows '#n/a'. All other fields are
shown correctly.
All other staff names are shown correctly as well.

Interestingly, if I keep the frontend file open in the background, then the
#N/A returns the actual name in the cell & everything looks fine.

Can someone explain why this happens. This skews up all MIS calculations.
Any help will be apreciated.

does tis problem involve any macros or just worksheet functions? You need
to isolate the problem better to get help. If you are working with worksheet
functions you can use the worksheet menu

Tools - Formula Auditing - Evaluate Formula

And trace back which formula is creating the N/A. The Evalatte Formula will
show which part of the formula is creating the problem. If you have a macro
you need to find out where in the macro the problem is occuring.
