Occurs when the SelectedIndex property has changed.

Except, of course, when you .Clear the .Items collection of a ListBox
while an item is selected, in which case the SelectedIndex property
***CHANGES*** from whatever it was to -1, but this event does not fire.

Whose mistake, the coder or the documenter?

If there were to be a witch hunt for every occurrence of the documentation
not matching the actual behaviour, then an awful lot of lawyers would be in
business for a long time, and they would be the only winners.

My advice is that now you have identified the situation, code to handle it.
