I was asked a question the other day

If I buy 3 OEM Win XP SP2 disks,
Do I have to use the product key which came with the individual disk or can
I use any of the other two product keys of the 3 which I purchased.

It didn't matter with Win 98, you could use any of the product keys and I
assume it would not matter with XP. Am I correct, or have there been changes
recently.

Cheers

If the three licenses are to be installed simultaneously (to three
different computers, obviously) you'll need to use a unique Product Key
on each computer, but you could use the same single CD for all three
installations. Product Activation is specifically designed to help
prevent the same license (as represented by its unique Product Key) from
being installed on two machines simultaneously.

You have to use the product code on the CD with that CD, otherwise your going
to run into huge problems with windows new Genuine advantage thing, i have to
amdit that windows 98 was flawed in that way, you could edit the registry and
make it a single digit number for the Product key and it would accept it,

Not quite true.
If the three CDs are the same such as Windows XP Home OEM, generic, any of
the three CDs (which would be identical) would work with any of the three
Product keys.
The Product Key is not on the CD at all.
