My boss asks me for an updated list of licenses being used
every week. So when I use the license management tool
under Administrative Tools, it always lists user accounts
that have been deleted months ago. I always have to go in
an delete all the junk/revoked licenses. Is there a way
to fix this so I can always have an up-to-date list. I
read at one time that I would have to delete the licensing
log, but when I did this all my users and purchasing
information dissappeard, so I put the files back. Is
there another way? And if I do delete these files will the
list of users re-populate themselves with the correct
users when they logon.
 
Not sure what to tell you because the License logging service does not work
as expected. I usually just stop and disable it.
Never seen a "fix" for it either. I have seen a reg hack that you could use
on NT 4.0 to reset the service to zero licenses, you then enter the licenses
again, but the first time you delete a user, that user will eventually
reappear.
I haven't seen the equivalent hack for Win 2k.
