the person who intalled XP and upgraded us spelled our
last name incorrect in setting up. It bugs the heck out of
me each time I see the license info come up with the
misspelling. Is there a way to fix this? Do I need to go
through MS directly?

Change the Computer's Registered Owner in Windows XP

Microsoft Registration: Start > Run and type: REGWIZ /R ,
and hit enter.

Go to Start | Run and enter regedit. In regedit, go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

Find RegisteredOwner in the right pane.

Double-click and change as desired.
