letter template asking for nonprofit donations

I am the Director of a nonprofit rescue organization dedicated to rescuing
parrots from neglected and abusive invironments. I would like to write a
letter asking companies for materials, services, time and monetary donations
but can not find one template or sample to use to write this letter properly.
I am using Word 2002.

This newsgroup does not deal with the content of Word documents. I would
suggest using Google. Good luck in your endeavors.

Sorry, but this sounds like a homework assignment to me. Anyone who manages
to become the director or a nonprofit org & doesn't know how to solicit
contributions might want to try reading their snail mail or googling for
some ideas.

If marketing were oh so easy ... :)

There are (at least) two aspects to any good template: its content, and
how this content is layed out/presented.

If you are looking for the second aspect, well, one would hope that you
have your own logos and styleguides in your NPO. If you have troubles
with specific stuff on how to format some stuff, we are all ears.

If you are looking for the first aspect, well: imagine there really
_was_ such a template "out there" (anywhere). That would mean every NPO,
NGO, church, choir, sports club, etc. would use it. You might imagine
what possible donators would think when opening the umpteenth letter
with the same content (with only a couple of varied keywords like org
name etc. :)).

Now, if you still want to persue this idea, then look on office-online,
or right away with the search engine of your choice. But, remember, you
need to stand out of the crowd if you want to get the readers' interest
and $$

HTH
(indeed!)
