Letter Spacing

I had fixed this problem with a previous version of Word, but now I am having
the same problem and cannot recall how I fixed it before. In a multiple page
document, once it is printed there will be numerous words that the letters
seperate, i.e., "Honorable" become H onarable or "the" become t he, etc.
There is nothing to indicate that this is going to happen until the document
is printed (even if I print preview). Can anyone give me a suggestion on
what causes this and how I can fix without going from word to word changing
spacing under Format, Font? Thanks for any suggestions.

It _could_ be as simple as updating your print driver, but it's kida hard to
tell since you don't mention what version of Word, what version of Windows,
or what type of printer. We can only go on what you tell us, and if there
were a "close-the-gap" button to point you to I'm sure you'd have found it
on your own :)

It might also be helpful to know whether this is happening in *all* docs or
just specific ones and whether there might *a* specific font/size where it
is more likely to happen than with a different font or font size.

Is there anything displayed in the gap if you turn on the non-printing
characters (¶)?

Originally this was happening in Word 2000 (that is the version I figured out
how to fix the problem in). Recently my system was updated to Word 2003 and
the problem started again. My version of Windows is 2000. I have a HP
LaserJet 4 Plus printer. This only happens periodically (no rhyme or reason)
and there is nothing to indicate that there is even a space there until the
document is printed.
