leftover directories and files under windows

are these forlers safe to delete??

I have approx 50 of these files dating back to 2002. 160mb, How does one know
if you want to uninstall a update from microsoft??
Do restoring to a prior date need these files?

Jim;
Generally the only reason to uninstall an update is if it is causing
problems.
After a few days or weeks you should know if everything is working OK.

If you System Restore to a time before update was installed, the update is
removed.
System Restore is limited as how far it goes back, typically 2 -4 weeks
depending on your usage and settings.
