Debra Dalgleish has a big list of books at:
http://www.contextures.com/xlbooks.html
John Walkenbach's books get nice reviews for Formulas and VBA.
John Green (and others) book (VBA)is nice, too. See if you can find them in
your local bookstore and you can choose what one you like best.
And if you check David McRitchie's site, you'll see a page with a bunch of
links:

look for: Excel Lessons & Tutorials (#tutorials)
(I don't know of any CD's. But if you want problems to try to solve, you can
hang around in the excel newsgroups. You don't have to post (but can if you
want). It's a good way to learn how others would approach real life problems.)
