leagacy problems with vista

I just bought a new laptop with Vista installed. I also purchased a webcam
that will not run with vista, but works on my older machine (XP)

Also, I cannot find patches for autocad or a number of my business
applications.

Are there legacy drives / patches for vista that will support older hardware
/ software?

HELP!!!

I don't have a copy of XP to downgrade to.

That was a bit daft.

Device drivers are the province of the device manufacturer, check with the
webcam manufacturer. For software issues check with the software author for
compatibility fixes.

You might want to try XP drivers as well. A lot of them work with vista
