LCD Modules?

After talking to Matt on MSN a few days ago I decided I had best come up with an electronics project to keep me occupied over the weekend. Eventually, I decided on creating a small LCD display (16x2 character) which can display information from the server.

Has anyone else got one of these little screens in their PC for anything? They are quite easy to hook up and cheap enough to build.

This is just an example of what I mean, but they mount much cleaner in a drive bay:

Thats pretty cool, my electronice teacher does stuff like that. but you have a cooler screen.
