lcd can't see the laptop signal

I have ADVENT 7113 laptop (with Vista Home Premium) and I need to connect
with LG 42LF75 LCD... I was trying to use D-Sub (14 and 15 pin), S-Video as
well... Nothing... LCD just send "no signal" ... What is wrong? The LCD,
laptop or I need Vista (or more) update??

did you use the function keys on the keyboard to sent the signal to the LCD
I mean on my dell I have to hit the function key and LCD key to get the
signal over to the Monitor
 
If you restart your computer with the monitor plugged in, that usually
should activate the monitor.
