LCD blacking out

I have a 17" Samsung 740B LCD that periodically blacks out for a quick second
then comes back on. I have updated the drivers and it still persists. The
screen will go for a periods of time without the problem, then it will black
out.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

If it's under warranty and it does this on other computers, call Samsung
and have them deliver a new one to you.

Many people do not realize that LCD screens are "back light" devices. Any
bad connection or burned out or intermittent lamps could cause this
condition. Yes, I did say lamps - the kind that wear out and go bad.
