I installed the thing and it found my def file was compromised ...
how I don't know. Users are instructed to delete the compromised file
and d/l the latest.

Mine too. Unfortunately it also tells me the newly downloaded one is
compromised as well.

Its beta software I'd beta not use it.

I'm going to try to figure out how to either disable or un-install it.

I'm having the same problem.

I'll see how I can un-install this thing.

I uninstalled all the plug-ins then deleted a .dll file in:
C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Personal folder then deleted
thereference file then started Ad-aware and it complained that it did not
have a reference file so I updated it.

I stopped then started Ad-aware several times and there was no message about
the reference file being corrupted.

Uninstalling then reinstalling Ad-Aware seems to do the trick.

Prolly means you also have somekind of virus hiding in the wings...
