launching web pages

hiya!

if, for instance, i am on a bank's web site and i want to
download/ or open an application form, my internet
explorer does not recognise there is a page to be
launched!

This also happens for other links as well.....

Any ideas?

I have set all my internet options back to default and
this doesn't seem to have had any effect.

This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware, parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
