Launching an external application (.exe) from PowerPoint

Hello,

I'm trying to launch an external application (.exe) from PowerPoint and I
was wondering if there was any way to bypass the security warning dialogs
when macro security is set to greater than Low. Would digitally signing
this .exe allow user to launch this application without any warnings? If
not, how does one go about doing this?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
