Latest drivers for ATI 7500 with XP produce static and noises in video.

I have Windows XP installed on a 1.1 Gig Celeron with 512 megs of ram. The
Video card is the all in wonder 7500.

The latest drivers produce good video but the sound is full of static and
noise. Picture quality is fine. Any reason for this?

I should point out sound quality if fine in the display. The noise is in
captured files of any format.

Still hoping some one has found a solution for this. I've tried
reinstalling everything I can think of. The TV shows great picture and
sound, but captured video has poor sound quality with crackling and garbled
sound.
