I have an excel file with mostly data, a couple bitmaps and lots o
linked cells. The file size is about 3mb which seems large to me fo
just data.
Does linking many cells create a large file size?If I delete everythin
in the file and resave as a different name, it only shrinks by 200kb?
Can someone explain to me how an empty file can be so large? I've foun
similar posts that had replies to hit ctrl&shift&arrow from the las
colmn or row, then edit/delete to lose any hidden data in the document
I've tried this with no luck... I'm attaching the file for review
Thanks in advance for any reply

Try tools/options/calculation and deselect "Save external link values"
(which may be linked to some defined name). Then save, close, reopen -- see
if the size has shrunk by a lot!

I tried this with no luck either... BTW I modified my initial post. I
had made a typo... this file is actually 13mb! FYI, I have tried
copying the data to a new sheet, new workbook, new document... this
massive size follows it wherever I copy it. The biggest puzzle to me is
that when I delete everything and save it the file is still12.8 mb????
