Large excel files

So if you are consistently sorting and subtotaling 100,000 rows of
information what power should my computer have. It grinds for quite some
time currenlty and I want to make sure I have enough horsepower to really
grind this analysis out.

Hi,

It's really impossible to answer this question, it depends on not only how
many rows but also how many columns, how large the file is and how complex
the Subtotal command.

One thing to consider, from my experience Pivot Tables are substantially
faster at doing the same thing as the subtotal command. That is pivot table
do subtotalling and faster.
