Large excel files into smaller

Currently i have 2(too big for one) excel databases that show my huge cd
collection ie: artist/track/cd/time/cd number

the files are too big to be shown on my ipaq and would take all day to
open...so i have to split them up i do it like

Artists beginning with A into a excel file
Artists beginning with B into another
Artists beginning with C into another and so on

So i have 27 smaller manageable files Artists beginning with 0-10 then A- Z.

Has i am still updating my cd database (which at the moment stands at over
8,000 cds and im only half the way through it) this becomes a bit tedious
because i have to hi-lite all the files ie artist beginning with A then copy
and paste into a new file, then open the 2nd database and do the save
copying into the file then save, everytime i add new cd`s to my collection.

Just wondering if there is a easier way to do this?

Hi Cal

To split the files toy can use EasyFilter ("Begin with")

Why not do the updates in the the files and if you want to merge them in one use code/add-in like this
