Sometimes our users send out really huge files (20MB or larger). When the
message bounces back to them with a mailer-daemon failure it causes huge
lockups with Outlook. Especially when the preview pane is on. The only I
have found to fix it is to turn off the preview pane, delete the message,
and empty the deleted items. I have had situations where There have been
sitautions where it has been quite difficult to get this email deleted. On
one occasion the email was the very first email and the preview pane was set
to on. Every time I opened Outlook it went directly into a locked state.
Any suggestions on either a 3rd party pst viewer where I can delete these
huge emails, or any tricks in I can do in Outlook to delete these files?

One this you can do is start Outlook without the Reading Pane. Click
Start>Run and enter the following in the Open field:

"%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\OfficeXX\Outlook.exe" /nopreview

Note the quotes and spaces. Also note that "XX" can be null, "10", "11",
depending on your version of Outlook. Just enter the path for Outlook as it
is on your machine.

Awesome! Thank you Brian!
