Laptop not requesting new IP when at work

Hello:

I have an HP laptop with a built-in wireless connection. I have
configured it to use the wireless connections as both home and work.

When I take the laptop home, I have no problems. It works flawlessly.

When I take the laptop to work, it does not connect to the network
until I diable and enable the wireless connection. After that, it
works perfectly.

I think somehow the laptop is not recognizing that the network changed
and it is still trying to use the IP address it got at home on the work
network and that is why it is failing.

The two networks have different SSIDs but they use the same address
space 192.168.1.x

Any ideas why the laptop is not requesting a new IP when I get to work?

Thanks,
Neil

It is likely a driver and/or network setup software issue.

My old HP laptop with a PC-Card LAN adapter had similar problems all the time.
My IBM detects network changes almost flawlessly.

If there are no settings for network priorities and/or auto-detect
and -switching, you may have to just live with it...
