Laptop keyboard switching vowels for numbers

Any ideas? Anytime I type a vowel key on my Sony Vaio
Laptop it types a number instead. I can use the FN key
and replace the number with the correct vowel but do not
know what I did to cause this or how to fix it. Found no
knowledge base article during a search either. Thanks for
any help
 
You haven't by any chance turned NumLock on have you? I had the same thing
happen with my Thinkpad when it was new & it took me a while to figure out
how to turn off numlock.
