I want to get a bigger capacity hard drive for our ibm thinkpad laptop and
was thinking of getting one thru ebay. Will pretty much any 2.5" drive fit
into it?

2.5" drives come in different heights. You need to get one the same
size or smaller heightwise. Also you've got SATA or PATA to choose
from. You need to look at the one you've got and see what it is.
There's also the question of capacity limits. Unfortunately there are
several of these that have existed at various times, some down to the
OS, some the mobo. Get a drive bigger than one of these limits and you
run into a big problem. So dl the instruction manual for your model
and check, plus tell us which OS you're running.
