Laptop hard drive from PC copy works?

My Toshiba laptop hard drive failed. Formatted a new drive bootable and all
files including WinXP Professional from my PC using Western Digital
Lifeguard Tools and installed completed drive into my laptop but it will not
startup, not even Safe Mode. Are hard drives formatted and bootable from PC
compatible with running Laptops?

No, they don't have the same devices/components and any drivers installed will not
be the proper ones for the laptop. If you don't have the Install disks for the
laptop you can get the proper drivers at:

Not only will that not work, for the reasons given in the other post, but
the windows key on your Laptop may not work with the version of windows you
have installed.
Did not tosh supply you with recovery disks?
