I'm using Vista Home Basic and am satisfied with its performance, but I need
to write a lot in the Spanish language. How can I get a Spanish keyboard
utility without having to upgrade all the way up to Vista Ultimate Edition?

Purchased a localized version of Vista Home Basic in Spanish or buy Vista
Ultimate.

Hi,

You can still install support for Spanish keyboard in the Control Panel
under Regional and Language Options on the Keyboard tab. You just can't
switch the base OS language without upgrading to Ultimate.

Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options. You can't
change the languauge of the OS, but you can modify the input (keyboard)
language settings.

To add to the above comments, after adding the Spanish keyboard, you'll
notice the appearance of the Language Bar in your task bar. To switch over
to Spanish keyboard, you'll need to either click on the language bar and
choose Spanish, or press ALT+SHIFT.

The on-screen keyboard (under accessibility in the accessories start menu
folder) may also be helpful if your physical keyboard has English labels.
