Language Replace Does Not Work

In Word 2007, the replace function does not work correctly. Approximately
half of my document is in English and the other half in Japanese. When I do a
search and replace to eliminate the Japanese words, all of the words are
erased. Is there a work-around for this bug?

What distinction do you draw between eliminated and erased?

More seriously, what do you want and what are you putting in the Find and
Replace boxes and what formatting are you setting. If you leave both boxes
blank and apply Language: Japanese to the Find and Language: English to the
Replace then a Replace All operation should change the language of all
Japanese text to English.
