Language - editing parameters limited support for FRENCH_french

I have 2007 Pro International English version. French is installed as the
second language. I found the editing very limited so purchased the French
language pack for £25 and installed it. However I have no more support for
French spelling than before and it is still shown in word as "limited"!

Is there anything I can do to get more out of the French language pack?

I would not expect more spell checking capabilities with the language
pack. What exactly is it you are missing?

I was missing any evidence that the language pack had been loaded but by
changing the language and keyboard settings in Control Panel (Win XP) I
think I have solved the problem
