I am currently residing in France and wish to buy a
notebook with Windows XP. However, in France, I find all
notebooks/computers loaded with French version of Windows
XP. I am not finding anywhere here accepting my request
for English version Windows XP. Can someone help me out?
Is it possible to change the langage (from french to
English) of Windows XP already loaded in the computer?
Thank you
Best,
Joydip

The answer is NO. You'll have to buy a separate version for the English language, but do NOT load both versions on the same computer for that will create a conflict. You can do a language capability setup at
Start/Control Panel/Date, time, language.../Regional/ and select from about 6 French versions.

You are correct about the need to purchase the full retail version in the
desired language, but wrong about installing differing language versions on
the same system. You can dual boot with two different languages quite
happily. I have some Dutch friends and their youngest son was born and
brought up totally in England and, despite his Dutch parentage, he struggles
to speak and understand the language. When he moved back home he sold his
computer (he needed the cash) and had an English version (of both Windows
and Office) sent from over here and installed it on the second hard drive in
his parents system - there are no conflicts whatsoever. What conflict are
you referring to?
