Is there a Lana Configuration Tool for WinXP like there
was for Win2K? I need to configure my Lana#0 for a legacy
application using NetBios.

Ola.

What is the legacy program you want to run and where is
it located? I run legacy paradox programs and they are
located on a Novell Server. The Novell client takes care
of the connection. XP cares less about the program, it
just runs it. Not sure why you think it is a
configuration problem. Need more information.

The legacy program is a banking system built utilizing a
3rd party tool called Probe/Ovation by Fincentric Corp.
The server requires to broadcast (yes i said broadcast)
it's unique name over NetBios. Here is a blub from their
help:

By default, SAM uses the protocol assigned to Lana 0.

SAM stands for Server Application Manager. My windows
2000 machine is properly configured, however my new XP
machine has some other protocol utilizing Lana 0. I need
to set my NetBios to Lana 0.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the confusion, but what is Lana?
In XP you can enable NetBios over TCP/IP. ADVANCED TCP/IP
settings. Found in local connection properties.

Second issue. Are you logging into a Novell or Microsoft
server? This is I call a LAN (Local Area Network).

Let me know directly if nessesary.
