LAN problem

B

Bernard Liengme

Three PCs running Windows XP connected to an ISDL box.
Internet, file and printer sharing work well.

Added a PC with Windows Vista
Stage A: The XP machine continue to work and the Vista machine can use
Internet and email. But the XP's network (MSHOME) cannot see the Vista
network (WORKGROUP); nor can the Vista see the XP's

Changed the network name on the XPs to WORKGROUP.
Now the XP's see the Vista but cannot access it; Vista still cannot see
XPs ---call this STAGE B

Following MS instructions I downloaded and installed the LLTD protocol on
the XP machines. Back to XP's cannot see Vista and versa-visa. Stage C

Uninstalled LLTD and back to stage B

Any ideas? Please!

Check your firewall on Vista and you have to enable the File and Folder
sharing service on Vista, it's off by default.
