I have two new XP computers connected with a crossover
cable. However both computer are displaying the same
message that the 'network cable is unplugged'. Both NICs
are working correctly.
It may be possible that my cable is faulty but it is
brand new.
Any sugessions?
Thanks
Paul

I think it's almost certain that the cable is faulty, since both
computers give the same error message.

Are you sure that it's a properly wired crossover cable? Can you try
a different one?
