Lan Connection Problem

John

Hi all, I have a laptop with windows 2000 pro installed
and i setup a lan connection. When i check the lan status
box, i see in the activity section, packets sent numbers
are moving but on the receiving side it stays at 0 and i
cannot see anything on the network. Can anyone please tell
me what might be the cause of this situation.

Please help thaks

Check the define dlink speed of your NIC.
Go to the properties for your NIC card and click the
Configure button. Then go to the advanced tab and
select "link speed & Duplex". Is it set correctly? If it
is set to Auto, try setting it manually to 10 or 100 or
whatever your network is.
