LAN connection needs repair - alot

Running XP Home SP2 on a desktop
DSL modem with good connection, but Explorer gives message
"Can't find server" When I use the repair feature for my LAN connection
everything is fine, but I have to repair about twice a day!!
Can I fix this for good? Thanks.

Click Start>Run> type CMD, press enter. At the command prompt type netsh
winsock reset , press enter.

Check the power options for the NIC.
