Hi Folks,
I've just installed a WRT54g wireless router.
My desktop computer's operating system is Windows xp. I have roadrunner
internet. I've connected the cable model to the router and the router to my
desktop computer. I have a laptop with a wireless card which is running
windows xp.
Internet access from the desktop and the laptop is fine.
The problem is that I wish to share my desktop's printer with the laptop.
I've tried several times to set up a windows home network. I've disabled
the windows firewall and my third party firewall and set the printer to be
shared.
I've followed the windows troubleshooter for sharing printers. It suggested
to try to ping the other computer on the network. I tried and could not.
The troubleshooter said that this means that it's a hardware problem. Humm.
I've looked around on google groups and have found tons of similar problems
to mine. Does anyone have more specific advice?
Thank you.
Best wishes,
Glenn
