Hello,

Anyone has seen issue with kvm switch of Linksys (4 port), connected to 2
PCs.
Has a USB mouse with USB to PS2 connector/convertor, connected to common
port on KVM switch.
Mouse doesn't work. If you connect actual PS2 mouse, it works for both PCs
as it suppose to.
So, whats wrong with using USB/PS2 mouse? Do we need to do something
special?
Both are Dell PCs.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Kirit

Will the mouse work if it is connected to one of the computers PS2
connector?
I am using a Microsoft USB mouse with the PS2 adapter on my 2 port KVM
without a problem.

I seem to remember from my Linksys owners manual that it specifically says that it requires a "real" PS2 style mouse, an adaptor
won't work. Same with the keyboard.

Thanks for your replies.
Actually, it turns out that it would work only if you have the
convertor/adapter of same manufacturer.
I tried using Microsoft USB Mouse with adapter that came with it, it works.
Also, tried using Dell Logitech USB Mouse with it adapter, it works.
But cannot use cross manufacturers adapters.

What a business monopoly!
