KVM delayed updates?

When I switch from my primary workstation to another workstation and
back to the primary workstation the screen acts as though the mouse is
being clicked with screens opening and closing and menus popping up etc.

Does anyone have experience of this problem? It seems to happen mainly
on the main workstation, and I wonder whether it is a security breach or
a faulty KVM?

Why always that computer in particular. I even switched that computers
cables and used a different KVM port, and yet the problem always returns

Yes, I've had had that happen in past. Your KVM switch is probably not
faulty, but it might be a cheap piece of junk. This seems to happen
primarily with mechanical switches, but also some low end electronic ones.

I would speculate that the cause is protocol getting out of sync between the
mouse and the computer, due to the lack of proper and continuous mouse
emulation on the ports while inactive.

The problem seems to be only on that computer, the other workstations
don't display that problem, switching the port and the cables seems to
make no difference. I will change the mouse to see if it makes a difference.
