KV8 Serial ATA

Can not get my Hitachi serial ata hd to work .on boot up it is
reconized,when i install windows xp ,i load the drivers
after the drivers are installed ,windows tells me i do not have a hd and it
asks me to quit install.

Maybe you installed the wrong driver.
If your hd ist connected to SATA1 or SATA2, you must install VIA driver
(manual 5.4.1). If it is connected to PRI_SATA or SEC_SATA, you must install
Promise driver (manual 5.5).
