Hello,

I recently downloaded several Korean fonts, all of which work perfectly
in Word 2002 (WinXP, using built-in IME). The problem is that only some
of them (it seems maybe only those included with the IME) will render
properly in Powerpoint. If I try to use any other font, it just defaults
to Batang (one of the included fonts).

An example is taehlml0.ttf from http://nucl-a.inha.ac.kr/pub/font/

It's a nice handwritten-look hangul font - or at least that's how it
looks in Word 2002. In Powerpoint, it just looks like Batang.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Boid,

I don't use this feature but a good place to start may be:
**Do I have Asian Language support installed?

If you do have the CJK support installed, then I'm not sure why the system
would not recognize your ttf fonts.

Yes, CJK support is installed. When I select the problem fonts as the
"Asian Font", however, I just get Batang. And, of course, there is no
problem whatsoever with Word 2002.

An additional symptom: the font selector in the Formatting toolbar
displays the font names (which are in hangul) as ??-??, whereas Word
2002 properly displays the hangul characters.
