Kirkland 4X6 paper

I know this paper has been mentioned before but here is my take on
it. Received a box for Christmas I set out to see what it was like.

Prior comments said the 4X6 paper wasn't as brite or as smooth as the
full size sheets. In looking at both papers, the smaller sheets are
not quite as brite a shade of white as the full size sheets. I find
the smaller sheets as smooth or a little smoother than the full size
sheets. I also note the smaller sheets are not quite a shiny as the
full size sheets.

I think for these smaller sheets the typ user would be printing them
as "snap shots" and not as critical in color accuracy as one might
want for larger prints that one might mount and have on display.
Using the smaller sheets and Canon's Easy Print I find the prints more
than adequate. Color accuracy and intensity were very nice. As for
color fastness and water resistance, I ran a print under the faucet
for a few secs, blotted the print gently and let dry for a short time.
I could see a "stain" that was somewhat reddish in color where I
didn't not see any sign of this with the larger sheets.

While the full size sheet are made in Europe, these smaller sheets
come from the U.S.A.

I'll use them for what I think is the indented purpose, snap shots, In
the area of resistance to water damage, they are not in the same class
as the full size sheets.

NEITHER REPELL WATER. IWOULD RATHER CUT THE LARGER SHEETS AND USE THEM
AS PROOFS SO I CAN TELL THE EXACT COLOR. I JUST DO NOT WANT TO MOUSE
AROUND.

With your excellent report of your expierence, I think I will stick

When I let the test print that was subjected to the water dry
overnight, I did find much of the discoloration has disapeared. If
you looked real close you could still see it but for someone that that
had not seen the print before, would be hard pressed to say something
was wrong.

I'll continue to use what I have for snap shots and wouldn't have much
concern about using them in a photo album for long term storage.
Except for the purist, I think the qlty of the prints would be
considered more than adequate. At $.04/sht they are a good value.
