kill messenger

What's with the messenger service and stopping the "kill
messenger" popups? Is there anyway of stopping them? Is
there anyway of asking Microsoft a question directly
without paying them? All their website does is refer you
to chat groups and computer manufacturers. This is a
widespread and very annoying problem!

You can disable messenger from your services console. services.msc - you'd
just set it to disable and stop the service...

You can also run behind a firewall and no messenger spam will reach you.

I don't know if Spybot Search & Destroy can block messeges from outside
without stopping your messenger, but try it anyway. Search for "Spybot
Search & Destroy" on www.download.com

Firewall is the only real answer to this problem. Stopping the messenger
service is like putting a bandaid on a subdural hematoma.
